Octenisept is a medicinal product with bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal activity for use as a disinfectant for the skin (including after surgery), mucous membranes and oral cavity, as well as in the supportive treatment of inflammatory conditions in the genital tract.<\/p>\n
The active substances are octenidine dihydrochloride (Octenidinum dihydrochloridum), phenoxyethanol (Phenoxyethanolum).<\/p>\n
100 g liquid contains 0.1 g octenidine dihydrochloride and 2 g phenoxyethanol.<\/p>\n
Excipients: cocamidopropyl betaine – 30% or 38% solution (dimethylammonium acetate of amidopropyl cocoacetic acid, sodium chloride, water), sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium hydroxide, purified water.<\/p>\n
Disinfection of skin and mucous membranes: the parts of the skin and mucous membranes to be treated must be thoroughly moistened with a sterile gauze pad soaked in the medicinal product or moistened by spraying the drug directly onto the accessible parts of the skin and mucous membranes. The following must be observed<\/p>\n
Octenisept contains active substances that have antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral effects. The drug has a destructive effect on bacteria, fungi, yeasts, protozoa (Trichomonas), viruses (Herpes simplex, inactivates HBV and HIV).<\/p>\n
Octenidine acts on the surface of the skin and wounds, while phenoxyethanol completes octenidine’s range of action by acting in the deeper layers of the skin and mucous membranes.<\/p>\n
