A chemical peel works at a highly acidic pH value. In order to stop the action of the peeling, and to restore the pH value of the skin, use the Neutralizing Lotion. The pH level of the Neutralizing Lotion is alkaline. Note: It is not possible to replace this lotion by water or regular lotion, because those are slightly acidic. The skin should be treated with an alkaline lotion to stop the action of the peeling. Failing to neutralize skin after a chemical peel can result in scarring, extreme dehydration and hypo- or hyperpigmentation. By using the Neutralizing Lotion after the peel, the specialist stops the peeling action. Adverse skin reactions and irritations are avoided. Use for both Glycolic and Salicylic acid peels.
