This is a course that covers cosmetology in a broad sense, so with this qualification you will be able to legally perform treatments in the cosmetology area and develop your skills to higher levels.

What does this qualification cover?
This is a vocational qualification and includes everything you need to work effectively as a beautician, including compulsory classes including: electrical facials and body treatments, body massage, hair removal and more.
You will also have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills by choosing a range of optional course units which include: facials, eyebrow and lash treatments, waxing, manicures, pedicures, workplace efficiency, health and safety and promoting additional products and services to clients, airbrush make-up, intimate waxing, eyelash extensions, Indian head massage and stone massage. The structure of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills needed in the beauty industry.
During this course you will develop your knowledge of law, anatomy, physiology, health and safety, learn about indications, contraindications, skin types, how it works. You will also develop a range of technical skills in skin preparation and the application of skin care products, electrotherapy machines using different techniques. You will develop interpersonal skills to help you communicate effectively with clients.
What can this qualification lead to?
With this course you can become an independent beautician and open a salon or work for someone.
Although the main aim of this qualification is to prepare you for employment as a beautician, you can choose to develop your skills further by gaining a Level 4 Cosmetic Therapies qualification.
This qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for cosmetology and is recognised by the UK’s leading professional association, the British Association of Cosmetic Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC), as meeting the target of proving your competence as a beautician.
