Who is this qualification for?
This qualification is intended for individuals who:
- are required to gain knowledge and practical skills in providing basic life support in emergency situations,
- need to learn how to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction),
- are preparing to work within the field of aesthetic medicine, where this course is a mandatory prerequisite in order to progress onto Level 4, 5 and 7 qualifications.
What does this qualification cover?
The programme is delivered in line with:
- First Aid at Work Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981,
- Guidance on Regulations (L74),
- Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines.
It covers the following key areas:
- assessing emergency situations,
- providing first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally,
- providing first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally,
- providing first aid to a casualty experiencing anaphylaxis.
Learning outcomes
Through this qualification, learners will gain both the theoretical knowledge and the practical competences required to provide assistance to an adult who is unresponsive, not breathing, or experiencing a severe anaphylactic reaction.
✅ In summary: completion of this qualification is compulsory in order to progress to Level 4, 5 and 7 Aesthetic Medicine qualifications.
